The pitter patter of rain was starting to overcome any of the other sounds that could be heard. The trails was becoming a tad soggy, causing for the need to jump over huge puddles so you didn't soak your shoes. Grass was slippery and the sky was dark. Barley seen was a guy dressed in all black with a dog jogging beside him. Dedicated to his jogging? Or perhaps a little crazy? A little bit of both was with this guy as he jogged down the path. Quick steps carried him down the trail and over the grass. A black and white great dane jogged by his side, tail wagging happily.
The guy stood tall at about 5' 11" with long dark hair covering parts of his face. His hair was wet, giving off sort of a shiney look. Deep brown eyes had once been surrounded with black make up, but it had smeared over the top of his cheek bones looking more gray then black now. A black adidas jacket and pants covered his body while black shoes fit over his feet. He was starting to get cold now that he'd been jogging since before the beginning of the rain. It had been nicer this morning so he went out. In the middle of his jog it started to pour. Soaking him all the way through.
Now he was out here in the rain with not another soul in sight. Jogging with his dog for another 15 minutes. Hopefully it would stop raining, but how it was going on now, there was no intention for it to stop anytime soon.

Emiko Watanabe was not someone who shied away from getting a bit wet, though she was regretting her decision to live up to that particular expectation now that her socks were rather soggy. She sighed and walked on, adjusting the hood of her jacket to make sure it was shielding her from the majority of the rain. It was not. A stream of profanities escaped her mouth--all in Japanese, of course. She hated the sound of the English curses, all harsh and grating and wrong. And somebody might get offended if she used such language. No; she couldn't have that. Emiko had to be liked to survive. This wasn't really much of a problem, considering she basically ruled the school, but hey. She knew the workings of the real world, how someone could fall from grace with just a little push. She wasn't about to let that happen. With a little smile, she searched for a happier train of thought. Summer! Summer was a good thing to wonder about. Where would she be going this year? Singapore, probably. She had an aunt and some cousins there, and there were amazing places to paint. She could even do a local outreach thing so that the media would remember she existed. Ha! Emiko was not an easy person to forget. Hey; if she was already wet, she could go puddle jumping. Sweet. Looking around and locating a particularly promising little area, she took a running leap and landed smack in the middle of the water and laughed in delight as it fanned up around her. Puddles! They should be the eighth wonder of the world. How did people ever consider themselves too old for this? It should be an Olympic sport, she decided. Then everyone would know that joy that is puddle-jumping.

"Running in the rain, running in the rain, how awful this is. I'm cold and I'm wet and -- Whaa!" Jimmy had been talking to himself in annoyance at the weather when his foot had gone forward expecting to hit the ground but instead it sunk into a muddy puddle that had only looked to be maybe an inch deep, but it reality, it was soggy ground that gobbled up his foot. All at once he fell forward, his hands holding him up the tiniest bit as most of him fell in the mud. Only to about the middle of his torso up wasn't covered in mud, but from there down was all tannish colored now.
His dog was barking with both a bit of excitement and that worry that loyal dogs have for their humans. Jimmy got up with a sigh and pet his dog, who jumped up and almost pushed him down again. "Hey hey hey, I'm already covered in mud." Jimmy explained with a laugh, as he tried to wipe some off. That helped none. His long black hair had fallen forward into his eyes, being slicked down from all the rain. He pushed his hair back and only realized that after his hands had been all muddy. He laughed at himself and shook his head then kept jogging.
A little further on he seen a girl jumping around in the puddles that lay in the middle of the path. She seemed to be having the best of time out there. Jimmy thought she looked familiar, like he seen her around once or twice. He wasn't entirely sure though. "Hey, you seem to be enjoying yourself. Mind if I join?" Jimmy asked with a smile. He was tired of jogging now, and all his clothes were too heavy to jog in, even though he was dressed with clothes a little on the tighter side, which generally were easy to jog in, unless you got covered in mud.

Emiko grinned at the sight of the boy and his dog, doubling over in a fit of silent giggles as he fell in the mud. Cruel? Possibly, but it wasn't like she was pushing him. She couldn't help it if the boy was unnaturally clumsy and she had an odd sense of humor. As the dog jumped up on the kid, she had to make an effort to keep from falling over herself, trying to bear in mind the fact that she was standing in a puddle and was wearing her favorite pair of jeans. Her shoes were also drenched, but they weren't as important as the beloved pants. After all, you could replace shoes with minimal annoyance. Snazzy designer jeans, however, needed a certain amount of breaking in before they could be deemed acceptable for everyday wear. A new pair would have no frayed edges, no signs of fading at the knees, and no history. Jeans needed a history, in her opinion. Right. Puddle jumping. She had just begin a sort of hopskotch-type game in the spot that had previously been a threat to her ensemble when the muddy boy asked to join in. Giving him a friendly smile, she merely said, "Why not?" and resumed the splashing. Nobody was stopping him, so why did he need permission? Emiko grinned, taking care to get the boy as wet as humanly possible in an effort to wash off some of the brown that coated his previously-black clothing. "That isn't going to be a picnic to wash," she remarked conversationally.

Jimmy laughed as she took care to get him as wet as she could possibly get him. He made sure that his hands got clean before anything else so he didn't smear more mud all over his face. Sure they said mud was good for your skin, but it felt super weird to have a huge blob right above your eyes! "Tell me something I don't know. I swear that every time I come out something like this happens to me." he said with a laugh and splashed around in the puddle.
"So, what's your name?" he asked looking over at her with a smile. Jimmy had seen her around before, but she was the girl that was in the middle of the popular crowd. People loved her and she was always getting awed at because of awesome outfits she wore or something like that. Being a trend setter can either come with positive comments, because everyone likes it and is willing to wear it, or they say you're out of style until a month later when everyone is wearing what had already been worn. "I'm Jimmy, you go to Kenston right?." he said with a casual smile. No he wasn't a stalker, you know, just saying he'd seen her at the school before and once or twice at lunch. He'd said he'd seen someone around before to a girl he used to be friends with at his old school and she smacked him across the face and called him a stalker. Wow, was that an awkward moment. Got some weird looks. It was pretty bad, but then again that girl was on drugs or something so she seen everything in some different way.

Emiko shot him a wicked grin and kicked some of the water up into his face. She stuck out her tongue by way of explanation and danced away in case he decided to retaliate. Throwing her arms out at her sides, she spun, thanking god she'd had the sense to wear her a waterproof jacket. She tilted her head upwards to the sky and opened her mouth wide to catch the falling rain. They were large droplets, the kind you'd only find near Washington, and now they streaked down Emiko's face. Surprisingly, the downpour was producing no signs of streaking makeup, as she'd been too lazy to actually make herself fully presentable. Long strands of jet black hair tangled together and draped over her shoulders as she stood, laughing. Pulled out of her own little world by the sound of someone else's voice, she belatedly realized that the punky kid was talking again and tuned in. Wait, now he was done! What'd he asked? Uh. Name! Yes; that was it. "Emiko," she introduced herself, still smiling. "Good to meet you." She felt rather bad that she hadn't been able to remember his name, though she knew she'd seen him at school before. Wasn't he in one of her classes? Not art; she knew everyone in there. Maybe math. She didn't pay nearly enough attention to any aspect of the class, and, really, that was explainable. "Uh-huh," she answered the next question. "Aren't you in my math class?"

He brought his hands up quickly and fast enough to keep the water from splashing him in the face. Sure, he didn't get it all cause hands sometimes aren't the best of blockers. Jimmy laughed and kicked some water back at her, but it just barley missed as she danced away, and spun around. Looking up into the sky to catch the rain. His dog was standing only a little bit away from him when she shook. The water went everywhere, and Jimmy wiped his face a bit, fixing his make up at the same time. Still a little smeared but not near as bad now.
He listened to her name and nodded lightly. Yeah he'd heard her name before in one of his classes, hmm, but which one? He wondered that silently for the moment when she questioned if he was in her math class. "Yeah, I think so. That and I think we have the same lunch bell." he said with a light smile. That was highly possible due to there are so many people in each lunch bell, but who knew. He wasn't certain.
Quite a few more heavy drops fell from the sky before it started to lighten up. It seemed it was only sprinkling now. A very light drizzle one could say. Jimmy looked up into the sky to find that the clouds had lightened a bit, and were starting to blow away. He wrapped his arms around his self as the chilling wind seemed to bite him. "Well, that was fun while it lasted." he said with a light smile as just barley the sun peeked out now from behind the puffy gray clouds.
